Hey Reader,
Tonight is not your regular night at a pow wow.
Manito Ahbee kicks off in Winnipeg with something you won't see anywhere else: the Jingle Dress and Grass Dance Showdown. And you've got a front-row seat.
๐ด Tonight: The Showdown
Live around 8 PM Central (9 PM Eastern)
This is a special showcase. The best dancers in each category go head to head, one matchup at a time, on a stage built just for this night.
No crowded arena floor. No waiting for your category to come around. Just jingle dress dancers and grass dancers giving it everything they've got, right in front of you.
If you love watching these two dances, you don't want to miss this one. Set a reminder now.
๐ฅ Then the Full Pow Wow All Weekend
On Saturday and Sunday we're live from the Canada Life Centre for the main Manito Ahbee Pow Wow, one of the biggest of the year. Host drums are Battle Nation and Bullhorn, with emcees Hal Eagletail, Ricky White and Howie Thomson.
Watch on your phone, tablet, laptop, Roku or Apple TV.

๐ The Explore Native Challenge Starts Sunday
Sunday, November 1, is the first day of Native American Heritage Month, and it's the day our biggest giveaway of the year opens, sponsored by Eighth Generation.
Every day you'll get a short email from me with something new to explore: Native history, pow wow etiquette, dances, food, crafts and more. Bonus codes are hidden in the articles, on social media and during our live streams, so keep your eyes open while you watch Manito Ahbee. Every code you find is another entry.
The grand prize is the Faith Wool Blanket by Bethany Yellowtail ($280 value). You can also win a Taylor Cameron throw blanket, pieces by Louie Gong and Michelle Lowden, Pow Wow Puzzle Books and more.
It's free to enter and runs through December 31. Join the waitlist now so you're first in line when it opens Sunday.
