The event runs October 17–19, and even if you can’t make it to Milwaukee in person, you’ll still be able to feel the energy and excitement right from home.
The dance competitions are going to be incredible, with categories for everyone—Tiny Tots, Men’s Traditional, Grass, Fancy, Women’s Traditional, Jingle, and so much more. The payouts are impressive too. The Platinum Men’s Combined (ages 65 and up) will take home $1,400 for first place, and that’s just one of many big prizes being handed out this weekend.
And you’ll definitely want to tune in to see this year’s head staff leading the way. The host drum is Blackstone, with Lil Soldier as co-host and Fire Nation serving as the tribal drum. The energy on the mic will be top-notch with Jackson Rollingthunder Tahuka and Michael Medawis as MCs, and the arena will run smooth thanks to directors Chaske La Blanc and Dakota Schrock. The head dancers, Richard Gougè and Sarah Jane Gougè, along with head veteran Walker Stonefish, are sure to bring powerful moments to the arena.
There are also some exciting specials this year, including a Chicken Dance Special with divisions for 18–39 and 40 and up.
And don’t forget to watch the youth categories too; seeing the next generation dance with pride is always a highlight.
