Reader April is here, where is 2026 going?
Is it going by fast for you?
I'm on the way home from a trip and can't wait to get home and edit the photos and videos.
While we were in Progresso, Mexico we visited Mayan ruins. Our tour guide told us about the Indigenous culture that lived in the Yucatan area of Mexico. We also visited a salt flat where they have been harvesting pink salt for hundreds of years.
Iβm also excited to share that this week, in collaboration with the Gathering of Nations Powwow Committee, we have the official Gathering of Nations powwow magazine available for purchase. Download a copy now!
It isn't like most powwows in the US, it is actually the largest powwow in the world. Which means there is a LOT to see and to do while you are here. Think of it as the Super Bowl of powwows and your expectations will be about right.
Over 150,000 visitors each year! You have to plan ahead to get around this crowd!
Gathering packs in a lot into two days. It's really a 4 day Pow Wow jammed into two days!
Lines form early to get in the door. But you can skip some of those lines by buying your tickets online in advance! Look for ticket special in January of each year.
If you have not joined The Circle yet, Iβd love to invite you in.
Itβs become such a fun place for Pow Wow fans, Native culture supporters, and our whole community to hang out beyond the newsletter. People are sharing stories, asking questions, posting photos, helping each other, and just having real conversations. It feels a lot more like sitting around and talking with friends than scrolling through another social feed.
And this weekβs conversation starter is a fun one:
What is one trend from the past you would be happy to see come back?
You know there are some strong opinions on this one.
Come jump into the conversation, see what everybody else is saying, and add your pick too. I always love seeing where these discussions go.
